Why Hire an Estate Attorney?
Our firm has decades of experience in estate planning, asset protection, estate administration, and probate issues in Schuylkill County, Northumberland County, and surrounding areas. Estate issues can become more complicated the longer you put them off, which is why retaining the services of an estate planning firm is in your best interest.
When a loved one dies, their estate may need to be settled, taxes and debts paid, and the inheritance divided among the beneficiaries. Under certain circumstances, the family would not be responsible for the debts of their deceased loved one. Under other circumstances, an estate need not be raised at all. Our lawyers will help you and your family through this process to determine what is best.
At our firm, we assist clients with all aspects of estate administration, including:

Navigating the Probate Process
If there is a will, we can help you probate the will. In the case that there is no will, we can assist you with obtaining letters of administration and appointing an administrator. We can also help trustees with trust administration. Even if your loved one's estate has very few assets, there will need to be tax returns filed and there may be other issues. If there are taxes to be paid for assets distributed to heirs, the tax rate differs and depends upon the beneficiary’s relationship to the decedent, and the amount may be affected if the decedent had children. Seek the advice of a Schuylkill County estate and probate administration attorney before trying to handle the estate on your own.
Handling Estate & Trust Litigation
In addition to advising clients on estate administration, we represent clients involved in estate disputes. Whether you are a beneficiary, a trustee, an administrator or executor, we will provide you with skilled advocacy to help you resolve your dispute.
Our firm handles a range of estate and trust litigation, including:
- Will contests
- Undue influence
- Breach of fiduciary duty actions
- Fraud and embezzlement
- Powers of attorney
It is also important to remember that the estate pays for attorney’s fees. You will not need to pay for an attorney on your own if there are estate assets. To make an appointment for a case consultation, please reach out to us today!
