Brian Urban's handling of zoning and land use matters include wind farm oppositions such as one of the only successful, reported cases in the Commonwealth which upheld revocation of a zoning permit for an industrial (utility-scale) wind farm and upheld denial of cell tower. Brian has also handled trademark, copyright, unfair competition, anti-counterfeiting, and licensing issues in aspects of both litigation and transactional intellectual property work (such as filing applications, searching marks, enforcing IP rights, drafting agreements, etc.) as well as prosecuting and defending patent infringement actions.
Brian joined his family's law practice full-time in 2007 after working for over a decade in Philadelphia law firms. Prior to returning to Schuylkill County full-time, Brian was a member of the law firm of Cozen O’Connor in Philadelphia, and before that an association with the law firm of Woodcock Washburn. Brian has also worked at several civil defense and plaintiff firms in Philadelphia.
Brian is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the District of Jersey, and also before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Throughout his career, Brian has handled matters in the state courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as federal courts across the U.S.

Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude in finance from Lehigh University School of Business and Economics in 1993. In 1996 and 1998, he earned his law degree cum laude from Temple University School of Law, and his LL.M. in Trial Advocacy, respectively.
Brian currently serves as Director on the Schuylkill County Bar Association. Brian devotes substantial hours to pro bono legal representation, and sat on the board of directors of America Responds with Love, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and the Schuylkill YMCA Board. Brian is involved in helping with volunteer work. He is also the solicitor for The North Schuylkill School District and a member of the PSBA (Pennsylvania School Board Association) in the Solicitors Division. He is also a four-time recipient of the Pennsylvania Rising Star Super Lawyer award by Law & Politics, nominated to the Commonwealth’s top up-and-coming attorneys under the age of 40.
